The international conference on Applied Linguistics and Language Education (ICALLE) is
an annual academic event hosted by the School of Foreign Languages, University of Economics
Ho Chi Minh city (Vietnam). This conference aims to provide dynamic opportunities for
researchers, practitioners, and educators to share cutting edge research, best practices, recent
innovations, current trends, and practical challenges in the fields of applied linguistics and
language education.
In 2022, the 2nd ICALLE will be held from 21 to 22 October 2022 at the University of
Economics, Ho Chi Minh city (UEH University) as a hybrid event (virtual and face-to-face
presentations). The conference addresses the overarching theme of “RECONNECTING AND
THRIVING IN THE NEW NORMAL”, which covers different aspects of Applied
Linguistics and Language Education, relating to one or more of the following conference sub-
themes:

Digital Learning and Technologies
(Second/Foreign) Language Teaching and Learning
Professional Development
Testing and Assessment
Materials and Curriculum Development
